Born in the historic city of Bath, Edmond Venables is a national of both the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
He studied Philosophy & Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, and graduated in 2016 with a Master's Degree, graded First Class (GPA 4.0).
His dissertation has formed the basis for a study published in the journal Biological Psychology, and after graduation he worked as a research assistant at the University of Sussex's Sackler Center for Consciousness Science.
He first visited South Korea in 2014, where he began studying Korean. In 2019, he was accepted on to the Korean Government Scholarship Program, to study Korean language at Keimyung University, and completed the course with a distinction.
He then freelanced as a Korean translator and reviser, with clients including Seoul National University Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul.
In 2021, his translation of the history book 'Tigers Unchained: 100 Years of Korean Anarchism' was published. It features a selection of Korean Anarchist poetry, along with Neo-Confucian philosophy.
