The author was born on November 15, 1924, in Mokpo, Jeonnam. He graduated from the Department of English Literature at Yonsei University and was active in the university's drama research group and theater club. After working at MBC, he held several positions, including Chairman of the Korean Theatre Association, Vice President of the Korean Federation of Arts and Culture, Director of the Korean Cultural and Arts Institute, President of the Seoul Playwrights Group, Dean of the College of Arts at Cheongju University, and Director of the Seoul City Theatre Company. He passed away on June 6, 2006.
