Pak Cho-Yol (1930~2016) was a South Korean playwright. He started writing plays in 1963 when he entered the Drama Center Theater Academy. When hs play “Ojanggunui baltop” (오장군의 발톱 Soldier`s Mementos) was deemed ‘unfit to be performed’ in 1975 and was banned from being staged for the next fourteen years, Park stopped writing. Set against the backdrop of modern history, Lee’s works have expanded the realm of romance fiction.
