Kim Sowol (1902–1934) was a Korean language poet famous for his contributions to early modern poetry.

Ahn Sanghak (born 1962) is a Korean poet. He emphasizes the importance of having hope for life, through his poetry which is simple and easy but deeply touching. Because of his second poetry collection Andong soju (안동소주, Andong Soju), he is known as the "Andong soju poet." He served as the Secretary General of the Writers Association of Korea and the Kwon Jung Saeng Culture Foundation for Children.

Song Jongchan (1966-) is a South Korean poet who debuted in 1993 with nine poems including “Naega saranghan gyeoulnamu” (내가 사랑한 겨울나무 The Winter Tree That I Loved), published on Simunhak. Jeong Cheol was a master of the Korean gasa (歌詞 literally “music words,” it describe all vernacular songs) in the sixteenth century during the Joseon dynasty. His works include Gwandong byeolgok (關東別曲 Song of the Northeast), Samiingok (思美人曲 Song of Longing), Songmiingok (續美人曲 Continued Song of Longing) and hundreds of other pieces of sijo (short fixed-form poems). Although Jeong Cheol was regarded as a self-righteous official, the head of the Westerners (西人 seoin) political faction during a period of political strife, he wrote sensually and fluently, giving him reputation as an alchemist of the Korean language. [1] Jeong Cheol’s poems and songs written with the Korean alphabet are contained in Songganggasa (松江歌辭 Music Words of Songgang).

Kim Kirim (1908 - ?) is a Korean poet, literary critic, and literary theorist. In mid-1930s, he formed the Circle of Nine (Guinhoe, 구인회)[1] with leading modernists, including Yi Sang, Park Taewon, and Lee Hyo-seok. Under the conviction that literature should reflect the sentiments of the times, he contributed substantially to the establishment of Korean modernist literature in both theoretical and creative domains. He underscored intellectualism and formalism, criticizing sentimentalism and biases of literature during the Japanese colonial period. After the country’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule, he showed commitment to helping build a new sovereign nation by calling for the engagement and involvement of the literary world.
