Bang Hyunhee began her literary career with Saeholligi (Hobby) published by Dongsuhmunhak. She was awarded in the novel category at the 1st Munhakpan Award for her novel Dalhangari Sok Geumdongmulgogi (Glit-bronze Fish in a Moon Jar) and wrote short story collections such as Babillon Teukgeubupyeon (Babylon Express Mail), Lost in Seoul, and Taoreuda (Burning), as well as novels including Ne Gaji Bimilgwa Han Gaji Geojinmal (Four Secrets and One Lie), Dareul Jjonneun Seupai (A Spy Chasing a Moon), and Sesangeseo Gajang Sasohan Boksu (The World’s Most Trivial Revenge). Her novel Burungwa Chinhaejineun Beop (How to Befriend Misfortune) was selected for “Book to Film” at the Busan International Film Festival in 2016, and her short story Nae Majimak Gongnaengsik Poreuswe (My Last Air-Cooled Porsche) won the excellence prize at Yi Sang Literary Award in 2018.

Kim Bo-Young is one of South Korea’s most active science fiction writers. She launched her literary career by winning the inaugural Korean Science & Technology Creative Writing Award in 2004 and has gone on to win the annual South Korean SF Novel Award three times. Before turning to writing, Kim worked as a game developer, screenwriter, and graphic designer as part of the now-defunct Garam & Baram Corp. English translations of Kim’s short story “An Evolutionary Myth” and novella How Alike Are We have appeared in Clarkesworld magazine and of the short story “Whale Snows Down” in Future Science Fiction Digest. Her books in English translation include I’m Waiting for You (HarperVoyager, 2021) and On the Origin of Species and Other Stories (Kaya Press, 2021). Bok is an unusual among writers in South Korea as he debuted by writing and publishing a novel without having gone through the traditional literary contest procedure by which the title of "author" is bestowed in South Korea.[3] Bok first gained fame for his debut novel In Search of the Epitaph, published in 1987. This novel built an alternative history of Korea based on the assumption that Ito Hirobumi - governor-general of colonized Korea, who was assassinated?had lived sixteen years longer and Korea was never liberated from Japan.[4] A writer of many interests and multifarious voices, Bok has also experimented with science fiction as a vehicle for exploring the effect of scientific innovations and technological development on human life. Notable among his science fiction are Under the Blue Moon (Parandal arae, 1992) which was serialized on internet[3] and A Wayfarer in History (Yeoksa sogui nageunae, 1991) which features time travel back to mid-Joseon Dynasty period.[5] In Gijichon In Camp Seneca (1994), a novel about gijichon or the red light district around U.S. military bases in South Korea, Bok minimizes political or ideological bias to realistically depict the conflict between indigenous culture and foreign culture as seen through the eyes of an innocent boy. Since 1994, Bok has focused more on literary criticism and essays than fiction. Bok published his second volume of poetry A Lullaby for an Aging Wife (Nai deureoganeun anaereul wihan jajangga) in 2001.[2] His 1987 novel, In Search of the Epitaph, was made into a film in 2002, although he disproved of the finished product and distanced himself from it.

Byun Yeongro (1897~1961) was a South Korean poet. He made his literary debut in 1921 by publishing his works “Kkum maneun naege” (꿈 많은 나에게 Full of Dreams) and “ Naui kkumeun” (나의 꿈은 My Dream) in Pyeheo. His poetry mainly sought to awaken the national soul using soft melodies and lyricism. In particular, the familiar rhythm used in his poetry finds its origin in folk songs. 변영로(1897~1961)는 한국의 시인이다. 1921년 에 , 등을 발표하며 작품활동을 시작했다. 작가는 부드러운 가락과 서정을 토대로 민족혼을 깨우려는 작품들을 주로 발표해왔다. 특히 작가가 시에서 구사한 리듬은 민요시에서 그 기원을 찾을 수 있을만큼 친근하다. 작가는 시 외에 논문과 평론을 발표하며 당대의 문학 담론형성에 역할을 했다.

Choe Chiwon is a representative scholar and writer from the 6-dupum (六頭品 highest ranked class within the dupum system, which is the third level of ranking system in Silla; a hereditary class in Silla dynasty) class of the late Silla dynasty (B.C.57-935). He served as a government official after studying in the Tang dynasty of China. During the formation period of the Chinese classic literature in Korea, he was widely renowned for skillfully generating various genres of the Chinese classic literature.

최치원(崔致遠, 857~?)은 신라 말기의 6두품(六頭品) 출신의 대표적인 학자이자 문장가이다. 중국 당나라로 유학을 가서 관직 생활까지 했던 인물로, 한국한문학의 형성기에 다양한 한문학 장르들을 원숙하게 구사하며 큰 족적을 남겼다.
